  1. WHAT IS ZONK?
  2.  
  3. Zonk  makes psychedelic patterns  to 
  4. stare at when you're too zonked  for 
  5. anything else. It might also be used 
  6. at raves etc.

  11. Photosensitive epileptics should not 
  12. stare at flickering  patterns.  This 
  13. may induce fits. The program  author 
  14. accepts  no  blame  for  damage   to 
  15. person  or property whilst  Zonk  is 
  16. running.

  19. ABOUT ZONK
  20.  
  21. Zonk claims to be  semi-intelligent. 
  22. It  can tell how much memory  you've 
  23. got  and  exploits  it  by  grabbing 
  24. screens.    These   are   used    as 
  25. backgrounds and are shown in a  fast 
  26. slideshow.  The  number  of  screens 
  27. varies from 2 (512K) to 112 (4M).

  29. I wrote Zonk in STOS Basic with  the 
  30. Misty  extension.  It was  compiled, 
  31. fixed for TOS versions > 1.62  using 
  32. STOSFX11 and packed with Firepack.
  33.  
  34. This version (1.01) of  Zonk can now
  35. save  the  grabbed screens  as  well 
  36. as load and  process any NEO or  PI1 
  37. images (as Kozmic does).

  39. However, as Zonk can store up to 116 
  40. screens,  display each of them in 28 
  41. palettes and overlay each with  > 40 
  42. bitplane patterns this means:
  43.  (up to)   112 x 28 x 40 variations.

  45. Simple  menus will allow  selections 
  46. from the many possibilities to  be 
  47. saved to disk for editing etc.

  49. Press  SPACE  whilst  the  main  two 
  50. pattern  routines  are  drawing,  or 
  51. during the fast slideshow to  access 
  52. the menus.

  81. currency.  My bank tried to  charge

  88. bill is OK.  For this you'll get two 
  89. disks in a padded bag sent by airmail.

  92. WHAT DO YOU GET FOR YOUR FIVER?

  94. Two  DS disks.  The  first  contains 
  95. Kozmic 2½ and its associated  files. 
  96. These  are  all compressed  but  run 
  97. normally.  There is also room for  a 
  98. folder  of saved screens,  ready  to 
  99. run  in  the slideshow or  load  and 
  100. manipulate.

  102. The  second  disk is  actually  more 
  103. than  another  two  disks  worth  of 
  104. stuff.  Apart from the full  version 
  105. of  Zonk there  are  self-extracting 
  106. archives of Kozmic screens. When de-
  107. compressed  these  give  two   disks 
  108. worth of images.
